Health is a “Your Money or Your Life” topic: Google’s search quality rater guidelines hold pages that can affect people’s wellbeing to a higher standard. A link from a health site is only as good as the site’s credibility, and health sites that sell links to anyone often lose exactly that.
What to check before buying a health link
- Who writes and reviews the content? Look for named authors with relevant credentials, or a stated medical review process.
- Do the site’s sponsored or guest posts stay on health topics, or do they link out to casinos, crypto and unrelated products?
- Are medical claims sourced? Unsourced cure claims are a warning sign for readers and for search engines.
- Is your business genuinely health-related? A link from a medical site to an unrelated business looks bought, because it is.
